IGAD holds a meeting on South Sudan

The Inter-Governmental Authority on Development is holding a ministerial meeting today in Addis Ababa with a focus on South Sudan.

“The IGAD secretariat says foreign ministers of the member states have been informed that the 54th extraordinary session of the IGAD Council of Ministers will start this afternoon,” reported Michael Minassie, Eye Radio’s Correspondent in Addis Ababa.

“The secretariat also said the 29th Extraordinary Summit of the IGAD Heads of State and Government will be held tomorrow morning.”

President Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar are in Addis Ababa to negotiate outstanding issues in the peace talks.
