The International Committee of the Red Cross is urging the warring parties to protect children who have been affected by armed conflict in South Sudan.

In a video footage , ICRC says children are suffering immensely in relation to the armed conflict in the country.

It says boys and girls, who are unlawfully recruited, used in hostilities or otherwise associated with armed forces or armed groups are particularly vulnerable.

ICRC’s child protection adviser, Megan Rock, who recently visited South Sudan, says these children are often imprisoned, wounded or killed.

She says these children are also separated from their families and denied access to education and other essential services.
