Gunmen kill 3 people in Juba

Gunmen killed three people in an attack in Juba’s Gudele area on Sunday night.

Area residents say more than six others were wounded in the incident and are now receiving treatment at Juba Teaching Hospital.

“They killed two people in one family and in the same hour, same gunmen attacked another home that seems to belong to the relatives of the first family where the two people were gunned down,” said an eyewitness.

“The police only came and picked the death bodies and up to know I have not seen security come back.”

However, the commissioner of police in Central Equatoria State says he will not speak on the matter.

Major-General Saed Shawul said criminals use statements from the police to cause more damage in the country.

“I will not speak again on security issues because criminals use our statements and explanations on media to commit more crimes in the country,” Maj-Gen Shawul told Eye Radio.

“Therefore, I’ve to be more concerned and sensible on this issue. I will not speak on security to the media.”
