President Salva Kiir has instructed the Jonglei Peace Talks Committee to work out a procedure of reintegrating David Yau Yau’s forces into the SPLA.

The government negotiating teams with the South Sudan Democratic Force/Cobra Faction of David Yau Yau will meet in Addis Ababa next week to finalize on the agreement signed earlier this year.

The two sides have agreed to the formation of a separate administration for Pibor County.

The government lead negotiator, Clement Janda, told the state-run SSTV yesterday that President Kiir has ordered the integration of David Yau Yau’s forces into the SPLA.

Mr Janda said they will be going back to Addis to complete the last phase of negotiations.

The Peace talks between the government and the SSDF/Cobra Faction are being mediated by the Church Leaders’ Mediation Initiative, headed by the Retired Bishop Paride Taban.
