The Commissioner of Yei River says two separate fires have burnt down goods worth 30,000 South Sudanese pounds in his county.

He said in one incident, five kiosks in Dar Salam downtown market were burnt and several commodities were also lost.

In another incident, two huts in Koronya of Tore Payam were also burnt when fire broke out in a nearby bushy suburb.

The County Commissioner David Juma Augustine said that the major challenge facing the county is that firefighting department lacks the necessary facilities.

The traders in major town have urged firefighters to station their facilities around markets to help put out fires.
