Bentiu Football Association to elect new leadership

Bentiu Local Football Association is set to elect a new leadership on Monday after one year of power wrangle among sport officials.

According to the head of the electoral committee of SSFA, the election is scheduled to take place at 11 am on Monday.

Molana Tong Akon said seven people are competing for four positions; including the president, vice president, secretary general, and finance.

Tong said all the arrangement for tomorrow election are in place

“Tomorrow Monday 10th April at 11 am after the two reports that are administration and finance reports we will proceed with the election,” he told Eye Radio from Bentiu.

“There are no complaints that arise because they have organized themselves and decided in advance about what to do during this general assembly, they were prepared, there is no complaint or appeals.”

Tong said former president Philip Muon Tap who was impeached in vote of no confidence in January 2023, is now challenging his former finance secretary Gatjang Matiok Nyal for presidency.

Other candidates are Chan Chany vying for Vice president without rival, while Majouan Gaduel Bol and Gatkuoth Wol go head to head for the secretary general position.

Nyabol Gatkek Tut faces Thuok Garmadai for the position of finance.
