Central Equatoria State Government has launched installation of more than 300 solar-powered streetlights, and traffic signals in Juba and the state counties.
The initiative launched by Governor Emmnuel Adil on the weekend involves installation of 60 solar poles in Kajo-Keji County with 50 each in Lainya and Terekeka Counties.
Meanwhile, Yei River County and Juba City Council are expected to install 100 solar poles.
The governor announced the distribution of electric gadgets on Friday at the State General Secretariat.
The 360-powered solar lights, according to the governor’s office, aim to ensure safety and security in the designated towns as well as smooth traffic flow.
The state-funded project is being implemented by City Link Africa Ways Company.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of City Link Africa Airways, Mr. Steven Lomude reiterated the company’s readiness to deliver the project across the designated sites within the shortest period possible as expected by the populace.
