An MP representing Kapoeta South County has expressed concern over the condition of Katiko Referral Hospital in Eastern Equatoria State.

Peter Lokuju says the health facility lack water, security, and workers.

He called on the government to look into the matter.

However, the State Minister of Health, Ann Itto, says the state government does not have enough resources for the hospital.

“There is no funding flowing into Katiko. It’s been left silent. The only time Katiko received money was 2010,” Ms Itto said.

Katiko Referral Hospital is located in Kapoeta South County and it is one of the biggest health facilities under the National Ministry of Health.

It was established in 2009.
