The World Food Program has received more than $165 million from the USAID for humanitarian assistance in South Sudan.
The Country Director of WFP, Joyce Luma, says this will be used to meet critical needs, including pre-positioning food before the rainy season.
WFP says it urgently requires $377 million for food assistance for the next six months.
It requires another $56 million to feed South Sudanese refugees in Kenya, Sudan and Uganda over the same period.
