Traffic Police issues public order

The Minister of Interior has issued a public order to all motorists and boda boda riders to ensure that they have all the necessary documents to operate legally.

The order states that boda boda riders without a license or number plate will have their motorcycles impounded.

Motorcycles will be sold out once they have been in traffic police custody for three months.

The government will assume ownership of confiscated vehicles after six months.

All boda boda drivers caught without a number plate will be fined 1,500 South Sudanese Pounds.

All vehicle owners whose vehicle has been impounded will pay a fine of 300 South Sudanese Pounds per day.

Boda boda motorcycle owners will pay 50 South Sudanese Pounds per day.

The order also urges security organs to penalize drivers of vehicles with tinted windows.

All security organs have been given directives to implement this order.
