A conference has been held between communities living in the border between Kenya and South Sudan to review a peace deal that they agreed upon last year.
The Commissioner of Kapoeta East, Titus Lokwachuma, says communities in Kapoeta and the neighboring Turkana in the northern part of Kenya have clashed several times mainly due to cattle raiding.
“We were there on the 31st of last year of December to review what was happening in all the year because there were some small incidents which were taking place; stealing of some cows from both sides and also some killing of South Sudanese from the Kenyan side especially between Kor Duluma and Lokichioggio,” said Mr Lokwachuma.
At least two people were killed by robbers along the road.
The commissioner says they have registered few attacks after the peace deal was signed last year.
