Tonj East County Location

Three people were killed in revenge attack in Tonj East County of Warrap state.

Authorities say the individuals were murdered while sleeping in Ful-baar area on Monday night.

The names of the deceased have been held.

On Wednesday, the State Minister of Information, Ring Deng told Eye Radio that the incident is related to revenge killings.

“On 16th August at night at around 11 PM, armed youth from Luanyjang come to a place called Ful-baar in Marial Lou Payam and killed three people while sleeping,” said the state minister of information.

“This is just a revenge killing because the fighting took place on 15th August, during the daytime and then they came at night on date 16 for revenge.”

On Sunday and Monday morning, 27 people died in the clashes between the communities of Lou Paher and Luanjang in Tonj east.

Fighting in remote areas of Warrap state have often been fueled by cattle raiding, revenge attacks, and banditry.
