The SPLM-DC has criticized a provision in the Political Parties Act which requires every party to produce members from each state to the registration center during party registration. The SPLM-DC says the rules for party registration only favors the SPLM which has a lot of members near centers for registration. He accused the act of trying to deregister parties who could not afford to transport their members to registration centers.
The SPLM-DC acting Secretary General, Deng Bior Deng said the Political Parties Act should be redressed in order to promote multiparty system in the country. Deng added that the SPLM-DC does not seek to overthrow the SPLM, but to advocate for democracy as a means of promoting freedom, justice, equality and peace.
