The South Sudan National Youth Union, in collaboration with the Young Parliamentary Caucus and the International Youth Fellowship, has announced the opening of applications for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, or TVET, opportunities aimed at equipping young people with practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.

The initiative seeks to empower youth across South Sudan through market-oriented training programmes designed to enhance professional competencies and contribute to national development.

According to a press statement issued in Juba, the programme will provide training in a wide range of fields, including plumbing, electrical installation, computer packages, beauty and hairdressing, fashion and design, paramedics, automotive repairs, camera operation, video editing, artificial intelligence, theology, UX design, graphic design, computer programming, sign language, digital marketing, news production, carpentry, hospitality and catering, and several language courses.

Additional training opportunities will be available in networking, driving, arts, music, dance, Taekwondo, mindset education, and other demand-driven technical skills identified as essential for the modern job market.

The South Sudan National Youth Union says the programme is part of ongoing efforts to invest in the country’s young population, whom it describes as the nation’s greatest resource and future workforce.

Organizers say the selection of trainees will be guided by principles of transparency, inclusiveness, equal opportunity, and merit. Particular consideration will be given to women, persons with disabilities, and youth from all states and administrative areas of South Sudan.

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications in person to the South Sudan National Youth Union office at the Ministry of Youth and Sports between June 24th and July 1st, 2026.

The Union has encouraged eligible young South Sudanese seeking practical skills and economic empowerment opportunities to apply before the deadline.
