South Sudan drawn in Group B of Basketball World Cup

South Sudan have been drawn in Group B of the August-September 2023 Basketball World Cup Competition hosted by three Asian countries.

The games will begin on August 25 and ends on September 10 with the final taking place in Manila’s Mall of Asia Arena.

32 teams competing in this year’s Olympic tournament in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia – have been drawn in eight groups.

The live draw ceremony of the World Cup was held in Manila, Philippines on Saturday.

South Sudan are grouped with Serbia, China and Puerto Rico and will play out the tournament in the Philippines.

Group A: Angola, Dominican Republic, Italy and the Philippines.

Group B: South Sudan, Serbia, China and Puerto Rico.

Group C: USA, Greek, Jordan and New Zealand.

Group D: Mexico, Montenegro and Lithuana Egypt.

Group E: Germany, Finland, Australia and Japan.

Group F: Slovakia, Venezuela, Georgia, and Cape Verde.

Group G: Ireland, Spain, Brazil  and Cote d’Ivore.

Group H: Canada, Lebanon, Latvia and France

The draw will serve as the centerpiece of a broad program of activities scheduled throughout the weekend in the city, which is hosting two Group Phase venues for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and the final stage.
