Author : | Published: Monday, August 1, 2016

South Sudanese nationals in Uganda have been cautioned by the embassy in the country to be careful of fraudsters and con-men within the country, especially Kampala.

This follows recent reports of an increase in the number of South Sudanese fleeing violence to Uganda, following the clashes in Juba.

According to a cautionary statement issued by the embassy, the con-men in Uganda scam South Sudanese through emails, letters and phone calls, or other forms of information involving money.

It says the scammers defraud their unsuspecting targets by pretend to be their relatives and asking for help in form of money. Click to read document: Letter of Precaution

The embassy says it has received several complaints of being coned of money from the South Sudan community in Uganda.

It warns South Sudanese in Uganda to be careful of emails, letters or phone calls requesting for money, from sources they do not trust, in order not to fall victims of the scam-tactics.
