Three men have been arrested after a police officer in Rumbek Central was shot dead at his house in Rumbek last night.
The deputy governor of Lakes state, Santo Domic Chol, said according to the results of a primary investigation, the unnamed policeman was killed by an SPLA soldier from Division Six.
He said the soldier who confessed during the investigation was found with two colleagues and all are under arrest.
He said one of the suspects said he had been drunk. Mr Chol said security is everyone’s responsibility.
“People should not look at security as the only duty of the government. Sometimes when you go to bed, you need to make sure that all your doors are closed, you need to make sure that your properties are really secure, this is part of security,” he said.
Mr Chol urged the organized forces to behave.
