More than 73 pupils in Greater Pibor Administrative Area are sitting for the Primary Leaving Certificate examinations this week.

This is the first batch of pupils to take the exams after the establishment of the area in 2014.

The exams were set by the Central Equatoria State.

The Director General of Education in the area, Charles Kutur, said the exams are being conducted in 2 different centers in the area.

“The number of the candidates is 102 and we have two centers…one in Pibor here and the other is in Pochalla. The number of the absentees is 29; we have 25 in Pibor and 4 in Pochalla out of 102,” Mr Kutur told Eye Radio.

He added that out of 73 pupils, only 16 of them are females.

There were 102 registered candidates, but 29 of them have failed to show up.
