The South Sudan Police Service is urging the residents of Juba to call the emergency centers in case of insecurity.

Some residents of Juba have often complained that they could not reach the police when they call the emergency number.

The Director for Emergency, Colonel Felix Charles, urged the public to use the emergency number “777” to reach the police.

He told Eye Radio that although the call centers are in trial period, still the public can reach the police in case of emergency.

“Whenever they feel that they are in danger, whenever they feel that they are in problem, let them call the triple seven,” said Col Felix.

He said qualified staff are operating the center. Roads and streets have not been named or numbered in the city. He added that this will impede effective services.

“The challenges that we are facing right now is the roads because we are expecting Juba City Council to name or number the roads so that we are able to have access to those who are really in need of protection and rescue.”

Colonel Felix Charles said the emergency call centers, which started with Juba will be extended to other cities in in the country.
