Both the government and the SPLM in Opposition have failed to provide a list of cantonment sites, according the chairman of the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Monitors.
Major-General Molla Haile-Mariam says the two parties have also not declared the disposition of forces as well as equipment and weaponry they possess.
In his opening remarks during the fourth meeting of the monitors this afternoon, Maj-Gen Molla said without the data, it is difficult to verify the redeployment of the forces and weapons in their possession.
The SPLM in opposition forces are expected in Juba soon to be reintegrated with the government forces and redeployed outside the city.
They are also required to declare the assortment of weapons they will have in their possession following their arrival in Juba. Haile-Mariam said the opposition has also not provided information on this.
“It’s impossible for CTSAMM to verify without being provided with all necessary data,” Mr Haile-Mariam stated.
He urged the Joint Military Ceasefire Committee to speed up the provision of the needed data to enable monitors carry out the verification.
