The UK Ambassador to South Sudan is calling upon the South Sudan peace partners to resolve outstanding issues and speed up the implementation of the peace agreement.

The issues include security arrangements for the capital.

Amb Tim Morris says hastening the implementation will ensure that there is lasting peace in the country.

“There are already some delays in the things that have to happen under the peace agreement but we rely on our partners and our friends in the South Sudan government to be serious about those aspects,” Amb Morris told the Dawn show.

“The peace agreement must go ahead.”

However, Ambassador Morris welcomed the steps taken in the start of the formation of the transitional government of national unity.
