Heads of cattle being driven elsewhere in South Sudan

Local authorities from Western Bhar el Ghazal and Warrap are meeting today to find ways to prevent misunderstanding between farmers and cattle keepers from the neighboring counties.

Last week, farmers ran away from their fields when they saw cattle keepers with spears while grazing.

The Mayor of Wau town, Arkanjelo Anyal told Eye Radio’s Dawn Program that the situation created fear among the farmers”

“As you know the cattle keepers and the farmers do not agree because the cattle keepers are looking for grass and the farmers are always preventing them from it because their crops may be spoiled by the cattle.”

Mr. Anyal said they want to find measures to prevent cattle from destroying crops.
