NBGS confirms two cases of measles

Health authorities in Northern Bahr el Ghazal have confirmed two cases of measles infection in the state.

The state Minister of Health, Tong Deng Anei, said the cases have been found in Aweil South County.

He told Eye Radio’s Dawn Program that the cases were confirmed after a laboratory test in Kenya.

Mr. Deng said that plan to conduct a vaccination and awareness campaigns against measles in the state.

“Our plan is that it [campaign] will take place in the middle of April so that we can vaccinate all the children in that are,” he said.

Last year, a total of 43 suspected cases of measles were reported by World Health Organization in Makal County of Upper Nile state.
