Markers will resume work tomorrow after the ministry of general education agreed to meet some of their demands, the Secretary of the Committee for Secondary School Examination has said.
The 440 teachers had laid down their tools last week due to unpaid food and accommodation allowances.
They were also demanding for an increase in the amount for marking each paper from 5SSP to 10SSP.
The Markers Committee had also said 37 of the teachers were thrown out of hotels due to payment arrears.
The secretary of the committee, Deng Benjamin, says the Ministry of General Education has agreed to start paying all their allowances.
He said however, the ministry has not resolved the issue of increment for marking.
“They are going to pay us although we will not be paid uniformly because some teachers were away during the resumption of the marking on date 18th July,” Mr Benjamin confirmed to Eye Radio.
He appealed to all the markers to resume marking tomorrow.
