The Lakes region is currently under a mandatory disarmament exercise, but armed civilian attacks have persisted.

Three county commissioners in Lakes State have been dismissed through a gubernatorial decree.

The changes were announced in a decree last evening. However, the decree does not give reasons for the dismissal.

Those dismissed include; Isaac Mayom Malek of Cueibet, Matieny Anyuonic of Rumbek East and Kuac Dhieu of Yirol West.

The county executive directors will act as commissioners in the three counties.
