A 30-year-old woman in Kwajok of Warrap State has been arrested for hammering 6-inch nails into her under-aged daughter’s feet, the Police have said.

According to the state Police Commissioner, the 30-year-old expectant mother -whose name has been held, committed the offense Monday morning, September 11, 2023.

Major General Mayuol Abet says the woman accused her daughter of moving into neighbor’s houses despite reminding her not to stay out of the home.

The police commissioner told Eye Radio that the child is currently being treated at the state child protection center.

“The daughter is 6 years old and the mother is pregnant, but I don’t know exactly which month I went to visit situation of Child Protection is the unit responsible for such cases, and that her real the mother and she has been arrested,”

“She said her daughter walks a lot and never helps her mother, The economic crisis is the reason behind maybe she becomes angry because the lady used to go to other people’s houses to eat there she normally comes from the market and never found her daughter at home.”

This incident comes five months after a man gouged his 17-year-old daughter’s eyes for refusing an arranged marriage.
