The Chief Justice says the judicial system in the country is set to improve after good numbers of judges have attended one month training.

The training brought together lawyers and judges from all over the country.

It was organized by the European Union in partnership with the International Development Law Organization, or I-D-L-O.

Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut, addressing judges and lawyers at the end of the one month training in Juba, says the Judiciary of South Sudan aims at ensuring there is fairness in how the law is implemented.

“We are serious about building the capacity of the Judiciary of South Sudan and we will leave no stone unturned and with the support of our partners am sure we will make a difference.” Madut said.

Justice Madut said the European Union is set to organize another training that will focus on a wider view on the judiciary system in the country.

The next session of the training will be next month.

He says experts from East Africa, including the Kenyan Chief Justice will be present to share their countries’ experiences with South Sudan.
