A state-run SSBC (formerly called SSTV)  journalist, Albino Andrea, has been kidnapped in Wau State, his family has said.

His father, Jovi, says the cameraman was taken from his house on Tuesday night by six gunmen who have not been identified.

Mr Albino is said to have fled an attack in Raja town last week and sought safety in Wau before his abduction.

“He wanted to go to Juba and take rest there and return later,” Mr Albino told Eye Radio.

“Before leaving, he was abducted in the morning.”

The state government is yet to comment on the matter.
