The Governor of Upper Nile State, James Koang Chol, has requested changes to the signatories of the Ulang Community Development Committee’s 3 percent oil revenue account.

The account manages funds allocated to oil-producing communities under South Sudan’s petroleum revenue-sharing arrangement. The 3 percent share is intended to support community development projects and services in areas affected by oil production.

In a letter dated May 21 and seen by Eye Radio, Governor Koang wrote to the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Johnny Ohisa Damian, requesting the replacement of the current account signatories.

He nominated Molana Bol Puot Yout as Deputy Chairperson, Rangdit Kiir Rangdit as Treasurer, and Rev. Thomas Tut Muon as Secretary General.

Governor Koang also urged the central bank to facilitate the changes and provide the newly nominated officials with the necessary support to assume their roles as account signatories.
