Central Equatoria State Governor has called on his minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency to resign over allegations of insubordination.

According to his press secretary, Emmanuel Adil Anthony said Minister Moro Genesio has been absent from his official duties on several occasions rendering the institution redundant.

The governor’s spokesperson, Derik Derikson stated that the minister, who is currently in a rift with Governor Adil, said the repeated absenteeism amounts to insubordination.

“I would like to make this very categorically clear that as a common phenomenon, the governor has a constitutional authority to delegate any substantive minister to undertake any assignment that he deems appropriate,” Derikson said in a statement.

“The minister in question is always absent on his designated duties rendering the docket redundant and meaningless in this political dissociation.”

“As such, this amounts to insubordination of the highest order which requires immediate tendering of resignation letter other than beating around the bush.”

Efforts to reach Minister Genesio for comment were not immediately successful.

Meanwhile, his party, the South Sudan National Movement for Change has accused the Governor of Central Equatoria of mistreating and humiliating Genesio and planning to have him sacked.

In a letter addressed to Chairperson SSOA and shared with the Presidency on September 19th, SSNMC party said Governor Adil has made several unwarranted requests for the removal of its chairperson.
