Sensational South Sudanese music band JJD Musica has announced a major comeback in early October after more than a decade since its popular Rhumba singers parted ways.

JJD which stands for Jamal, Juma and Duku started their music Journey in 2004 in Uganda’s Koboko town.

The group members were young people mainly from South Sudan, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

They are famously known for playing Rhumba, Soukous & Kwasa Kwasa (Congolese style of music) which is very popular in South Sudan.

Speaking on the Rhumba Sukun Sukun show on Thursday, Jumason, one of the band’s co-founders said his fellow singers deserted in 2011, and in 2014, he formed his own group called JJD Musica Mia Fil Mia.

Jumason said through the years, he had been convincing the other band members who are based in Uganda to join him Juba so that they can pick up from where they left.

Jumason said he has successfully managed to purchase all musical instruments for their band to come back to life, while adding that he is only awaiting the arrival of his colleagues in Juba.

The group members including Data Dataki, Nunu MC, NgisiNgese, Solist Kalido, Sammy Baz and Johnny Crocodile are set to come back and reestablish the then popular group.

The first member to abandon the group was Jamal in 2005 leaving Jumason as the lead singer and Duku Mulolo to manage the group.

JJD Musica are well known for their 2007 hit songs Momoria, Haya Mashakil, Aredu, Pesa and Ariye.

Jumason said his co-founder Duku Mulolo, who is also in Uganda, promised to join them later this year.
