Organized forces are being sent from Juba, Warrap and Western Bahr el Ghazal states to address insecurity in Lakes State.

The Acting Minister of Information in Lakes State, Dhieu Wol, cum Minister of Public Service in the state, told Eye Radio the forces are mainly from the police.

“This is the order of the minister of Interior,” said Mr Wol. “He is here with us for one week – plus. He is with us so it is him who ordered them.”

However, he said he is not aware of the number of the forces.

There has been reports of revenge attacks, inter-clan clashes and cattle raid incidents in the state.

In August, members of the national legislative assembly representing Lakes State said more than 500 people had been killed in attacks between May and August this year.
