The minister of Foreign Affairs has urged the media in the country to report responsibly on the conflict.

He said journalists should exercise professionalism while reporting on sensitive issues in order to promote peace and unity.

He was speaking to journalists about his recent foreign tour when he addressed the international community on the crisis in the country.

“We must fight tribalism. Tribalism is a vice. It is a bad thing that people who want to build our nation should not get involved with, so it’s a must for all of us, especially you, members of the press,” he cautioned.

“If there are those who are trying to divide us, those who are doing bad things among us we will identify them and punish those. That should not put in danger the unity of this country.”

He added that the government is going to review the government institution in the country, particularly the army, the judiciary and other law agencies.

Benjamin Marial also said the government is preparing for the elections in 2015 and will conduct the the National Census.
