The Economic Cluster has approved a proposed budget of 11.335 trillion South Sudanese Pounds for the 2026/2027 fiscal year and forwarded it to the Council of Ministers for consideration.
A post on the official Facebook post, said the decision was reached during an ordinary meeting chaired on Wednesday by Vice President and Chairperson of the Economic Cluster, Prof. James Wani Igga, at the Central Bank of South Sudan headquarters in Juba.
The meeting reviewed a presentation on the resource envelope for the 2026/2027 fiscal year delivered by Finance and Planning Minister Kuol Daniel Ayulo under the theme, “Building Resilience and Prosperous Sustainable Peace.”
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Economic Cluster spokesperson and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Lily Albino Akol said the proposed budget has been endorsed by the Cluster on Wednesday.
She said the draft budget will would now be submitted to the Council of Ministers for approval before being forwarded to the Revitalized Transitional National Legislative Assembly for debate.
Akol said the budget prioritizes investment in agriculture to strengthen food security, as well as support for the mining and livestock sectors as part of efforts to drive economic growth and resilience.
