The Spokesperson of Dr Lam Akol’s party, the National Democratic Movement have resigned from his position and accused the chairperson of mismanagement.

In the statement addressed to the party chairman, Dr Lam Akol, Mahmoud Abdelrahman Akot said he resigned because the two officials cannot work together in harmony.

Akot tendered his resignation letter on Friday, August 18.

National Democratic Movement is one of the peace parties’ signatories to the 2018 peace agreement.

Mahmoud accused Dr Lam’s leadership of double standards and the marginalization of some party members.

Eye Radio was unable to reach NDM Chairperson Dr Lam Akol for comment on the accusations because his phone contacts went unanswered.

According to him, this has caused a crisis in the running of the movement’s priorities and structures.

“The nature of your leadership in the movement is the worst, due to the bad practices towards some members, such as conspiracy, negligence and marginalization of some members, just for superficial considerations,” he said in the letter.

Mahmoud Akot was appointed to the position of NDM spokesperson in 2021, after his former colleague, David Lual Lual resigned from the same position.
