The Bishop of the Episcopal diocese of Yei has called upon South Sudanese to shun culture of idleness and embrace work.
Bishop Hillary Luate Adeba lamented that several government employees just ‘sit under trees’ during working hours. And others ‘watch movies in offices’.
The religious leader said that it’s high time for all citizens, including their leaders to work hard on national reconstruction.
“People are sitting under trees at 9 and 10 Am? Moreover, these people are receiving government salaries? This portrays a bad image of the country,” he stressed.
“This problem is paining us so much; where is this country going?
“We need work done, if you are a teacher go and teach, if you are a commissioner, stay in your office and do work so that people can know that there is work in this country,” said Hillary.
The prelate made the appeal at the burial of a renown community leader, Levi Sebit Swangwa, on Monday.
