UN Chief proposes arms embargo on S Sudan

The UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon has proposed four steps – including arms embargo on South Sudan – that the Security Council should consider.

Ban Ki-Moon, who was expected to meet members of the UN Security Council Tuesday, says the international community needs to back the implementation of the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan through tough actions.

He said those violating or derailing the implementation of the agreement should be held accountable.
