Nearly 60,000 children in Central Equatoria State will be vaccinated against childhood killer diseases.

The state ministry of health says it has introduced the five – in – one vaccine known as penta-vaccine program.

The five-in-one vaccine is a combination of vaccines against the five immunized childhood diseases.

“I can say that we are targeting children under the age of one year,” said, George Awzenio, the program director.

“When I say less than one I mean a child who is 11 months old. Generally, we are targeting 59,000 children this year.”

Mr. Awzenio says the vaccination will also cover the children of the internally displaced persons inside in the United Nations camps in Juba.
