The Council of Ministers has approved 6 million pounds for the interschool tournament that will take place in Yambio, Western Equatoria State next month.

Only students from seven states will participate in the tournaments. Students from the three states that have been affected by the conflict will not take part in the competitions.

The Undersecretary in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Michael Loupoke Lotiyam says the ministry had submitted a request to the Council of Ministers.

“We are hoping this week we will be able to get it,” Mr. Lopuke told Eye Radio.

Mr. Lopuke says preparations for the tournament have been completed.

He said the tournament will include sports competitions and cultural activities to be presented by students who represent their states.
