Bentiu City defeated Al Hilal Wau 3-1 in match-week five of the South Sudan Premier League at Juba National Stadium, bouncing back from a disheartening loss to Koryom Bor on January 18.
Al Hilal Wau struck first in the 30th minute when Hamdi capitalized on a defensive deflection to score against the run of play.
However, Bentiu City’s relentless pressure paid off in the 40th minute as Addis equalized following a well-executed exchange with the winger, leaving the score level at halftime.
The second half saw Bentiu dominate with a high-intensity midfield game and effective use of the flanks. Despite missing a penalty earlier, Bentiu’s Tate James put his team ahead in the 78th minute.
Player number 23 sealed the win with a third goal in stoppage time. Bentiu nearly added a fourth goal, but it was ruled offside, and the match ended 3-1 in their favor.
