UN allocates $6 million to violence-torn Pibor

Author : | Published: Wednesday, August 14, 2013

The United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund says it has approved the allocation of 6 million dollars to aid agencies in South Sudan to deliver relief services in violence-affected areas of Jonglei.

The funding covers food assistance, nutrition supplements, and water and sanitation supplies to people affected by hostilities in Pibor County.

This is in addition to 5 point 5 million dollars the Fund allocated for aid in the state in June this year.

The UN called on all parties to ensure that civilians can move around freely and in safety to access basic services and humanitarian aid where they are available.
