Malakia make it to quarter finals in regional tournament
The 2014 South Sudan Cup champion, Malakia, has become the first South Sudanese football team to qualify for a quarter finals in a regional tournament.
According to Talk of Juba website, Malakia Football Club made it to the next round of the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Sunday after the Ugandan outfit KCC who had earlier beaten Malakia lost 1-0 to Azam FC.
Malakia FC has lost two group games on Saturday and Tuesday last week. On Tuesday they were thrashed 2 – 0 by Tanzania’s side Azam FC and Saturday Malakia was beaten 1 – 0 by Uganda’s KCCA.
They won their opening game against Ethiopia’s Adama City 2 – 1 last Sunday. They will now face Kenya Premier League champion Gor Mahia in quarters on Tuesday today.
