The Jonglei State Minister of Education says at least 200 students have registered for the South Sudan Secondary School Certificate Examinations scheduled to commence later this month.

The ministry has opened two examination centers in Juba for the students who will be coming from three areas that have been affected by the conflict.

“In Juba here, we have two centers, one for Pangak and a center in Pibor, and we have a center in Panyagor,” said Mr Tut Kony Nyang in an exclusive interview with Eye Radio.

Registration for index numbers is still open.

Mr. Kony said they still have students who are studying in Arabic langue in Jonglei State, but they will be phasing out with the introduction of new South Sudan curriculum next academic year.

He said the National Ministry of Education, Science and Technology left registration for examinations open for students from the areas that affected by the conflict.

Last month, ministry announced that more than 13 thousand secondary school students have registered for the South Sudan School Certificate Examinations.

The Secretary for Examinations at the National Ministry of Education, Lul Ruei Dhol, said the exact date for the examinations will be announced later.
