A Member of Parliament from Central Equatoria is urging the State authorities to give priority to the reconstruction of Kajo-Keji –Juba road in order to enable citizens to access health services in the city.

Addressing the media in Juba, a representative of Kajo-Keji County in the State Assembly, Dabe Francis Elisama, said pregnant women in remote rural areas often die because they don’t access health facilities.

He said the county has lost ‘a good number of people’ simply because they could not reach medical facilities in time due to poor road.

“So, I want to inform our state government that the people along Kajo-Keji – Nimbi road also matter to us as a government,” he said.

“We can’t sit comfortably in Juba when our people are not comfortable in the villages and we call ourselves a government.

“We can’t be called a government or members of parliament without people on the ground.”

Poor road network in the country is one of the challenges hindering service delivery in South Sudan.
