W.H.O. builds maternity facility in Malakal

In an effort to reduce maternal deaths and infant mortality, the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health are constructing a maternity complex in Malakal.

The complex will offer comprehensive emergency obstetrics and newborn care services.

“The hospital will improve the much needed services in the state,” Dr. Charles Yor, state health minister told Eye Radio.

The health facility comprises of main ward -that is the delivery rooms and dining ward.

“There will be enough space that will accommodate more women,” Dr. Yor added.

He said the training of doctors and nurses is ongoing to improve the work in the hospitals.
