The government may soon give performance-based contracts to all constitutional post holders in order to improve service delivery, says the Vice President James Wani Igga.

The Vice President said the performance-based contract would be awarded yearly, after an evaluation on the work of individual Ministers is done

“People don’t work without any guidance or contract. There has to be in a contract. If you are a minister, you will sign your contract with the President for one year service,” James Wani Igga told a crowd in Nimule.  “If you perform well on your duties within that year, your contract will be renewed, but if you have been lazing around or became corrupt within that year, you will face the law. Because at the end of the year, an evaluation must be carried out –which will include all the things that the Minister has done throughout that year.”

James Wani Igga said that the performance-based contracts will apply to all Ministers, Undersecretaries, Director Generals and directors.
