Author : | Published: Thursday, April 24, 2014

Upper Nile state is restructuring the work of various ministries in the state, an official has said.

The functions of the state government were suspended for over 2 months since the conflict begun in Mid-December last year.

Government forces recaptured Malakal town last month from forces of the SPLA-in Opposition.

“The people have resumed work in the different government institutions,” Philip Jiben, the state Minister of Information, told Eye Radio.

Mr. Jiben said the authorities are still collecting dead bodies in the streets of Malakal town.

He also said that the state government has begun paying salaries to civil servants in Malakal.
