IGAD, in partnership with the South Sudan National Youth Union, will tomorrow convene a youth leadership, peace and security forum in Juba to promote youth participation in national affairs.

According to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the forum will run from Monday 21 to July 22 in Juba.

The forum is organized by the Office of the IGAD Youth Special Envoy in collaboration with the National Youth Union, the South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC), and the All-Africa Conference of Churches (AACC).

It will bring together youth leaders from across the country, government representatives, development partners, civil society organizations, faith leaders and regional stakeholders.

The meeting will discuss youth participation in South Sudan’s peacebuilding, democratic transition and national development processes.

Under the theme “Youth Voices for Peace: Shaping South Sudan’s Democratic Transition, Social Cohesion and Economic Future,” the forum will share position papers and promote greater youth involvement in national processes.

A high-level engagement will follow from 22 to 24 July 2026, with the Minister for Youth, the Minister for Peace, and the Vice President for the Gender and Youth Cluster expected to deliver keynote addresses.
