Upper Nile authorities express fear over influx of Sudanese refugees

The Upper Nile state deputy governor has said there is fear over the security along the state borders, as more Sudanese refugees enter daily.

In an interview with Eye Radio, John Eibu Monto said there is a need to deploy more soldiers at the borders to prevent the entry of criminals or spies from entering the county.

“At the border sometime, many people come in and go out; like refugees, they are coming daily and reporting to UN, but do we know who they are?

“We’re thinking that many come in, including the wrong people that may come to collect information from South Sudan, because you are hearing everyday Sudan government is complaining that South Sudan is helping rebels.”

Mr. Eibu said there is some fear that some people coming into the country as refugees may be criminals.
