UNMISS reports fresh clashes in Unity

 

The UN mission in South Sudan says there was shelling in an area six kilometers south of its base in Bentiu, Unity State this morning.

UNMISS spokesperson Ariane Queinter says the shelling lasted for about one hour.

But she did not confirm whether it was between the government and the SPLM in Opposition forces.

However, the Minister of Information in Unity State, Peter Makuth, says there was no fighting.
